How to Remove Microsoft Edge Step by Step

1. Choose Removal Method

Please review the table below and select the appropriate removal method based on your needs.

2. Download Files

Click on the file name in the table to download. If you need to use the batch script offline, make sure to download setup.exe and place it in the same directory.

3. Run Uninstaller
  • Executable files (.exe):
  • • Simply double-click to run
  • Batch scripts (.bat):
  • • Right-click and select "Run as administrator"
4. Verify Removal
  • Confirm successful uninstallation by:
  • • Opening the "Start" menu
  • • Searching for "Microsoft Edge"
  • • If not found, uninstallation was successful

Important Notes for Removing Microsoft Edge:

  1. Windows Update and Microsoft Edge Removal: When removing Microsoft Edge, users should be aware that uninstalling Edge may cause an update failure loop. It is recommended to install Edge, install all Windows updates, and then proceed with Edge removal.
  2. WebView Dependencies when Removing Edge: Before uninstalling Microsoft Edge WebView, note that some applications may depend on it, such as ImageGlass, Lenovo USB Recovery Creator Tool, Microsoft Photos App (Edit), Quicken, Windows Mail, and Xbox App. Removing Edge WebView may affect these applications.
  3. Microsoft Edge Reinstallation: If you need to reinstall Microsoft Edge or WebView after removal, you can get the official installers through Microsoft's download links.
